The vineyard located on a gentle hillside facing south with very characteristic soils that possess an unmistakable “Terroir”. Only selected traditional red grapes from Alentejo like Trincadeira and Aragonez as well as Castelão, Moreto, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Caiada andAlicante, and white grapes like Verdelho, Arinto and Antão are planted.

Until the vintage of 1999 only 4 hectares of vineyard (the first planted) were producing in order to enhance the favourable growing development of new wines.

The harvest date is a decision wisely taken by our winemaker who daily analyses the maturity of the grapes, stock by stock, thus controlling the acidity, sugar, colour and richness of the tannins

Our harvest is made exclusively by hand and the grapes are collected in small individual cases and brought to the Winery as fast as possible so that they are not crushed.
